As well as a wealth of history, the cities boast green city parks, a wide range of cultural activities and beautiful nature reserves within cycling or even walking distance. Furthermore, the cities are renowned for their fashion and design, attractive architecture, culinary delights, top attractions, wellness facilities and an extensive programme of events.
The Veluwe is one of the largest contiguous areas of natural beauty in Western Europe and boasts the highest concentration of attractions in the Netherlands. Apeldoorn is home to Paleis Het Loo, the former palace of King-Stadtholder William III of England and Queen Mary Stuart II.
City life
The towns in The Other Holland are completely different, yet complement each other perfectly. Their fascinating history dates back to the time when the Romans ruled the south of the Netherlands. Then there are the Hanseatic towns, where medieval wealth is still evident, and of course ‘A Bridge Too Far’ and the traces left behind by the Second World War.
Versatile Arnhem
Arnhem is a dynamic shopping city on the River Rhine, famous for the Battle of Arnhem. The city boasts many major attractions and museums, such as Burgers’ Zoo and the Dutch Open-Air Museum. Fashion and design are another highlight of the city. If you stroll through the ‘7-straatjes’ with a city guide, you’ll immediately understand why.
Visit ArnhemNijmegen, rich in history

You’ll find museums, green spaces and plenty of cosy cafés and outdoor terraces. And, of course, there’s no shortage of shops and boutiques.
