Airborne Monument / De Naald
The Airborne Monument in Oosterbeek commemorates the Battle of Arnhem, which took place from 17 to 26 September 1944. Among other things, the monument symbolises freedom, the landing of the Allied troops, the help provided by the women of Oosterbeek to the wounded, and the assistance given by members of the Resistance to Allied soldiers during the Battle of Arnhem.
